twentynine inches • one gear • zero travel

Anonymous asked: do you know the real weight of the frame? It's a medium size? And the weight of the complete bicycle?

I did not weigh the frame. From what I read online, the medium Air 9 Carbon frame weighs about 1300 grams. The total weight of the bike as it’s currently set up is about 8.5 kg. A light-weight set of tires would immediately drop it below 8 kg.

Long Fall Ride With Lots Of Singletrack

Today’s mountain bike ride was all about chaining as much singletrail together as possible, to avoid wide trails and to stay off pavement. Goal achieved. I pieced together an awesome ride to the Chasseral combining some of the best singletrail the area has to offer. I have no idea how long the whole ride is, but reaching the Chasseral I was pretty beat. Surprisingly, I found some remaining energy to hammer up the last stretch from the backside of the mountain to the antenna. Some hikers fired me up and that definitely helped to put in one last sprint up the hill. I took a break at the top and soaked in the fantastic view. Recharged with more energy, I chose more singletrail along the crest heading east towards Les Prés d’Orvin. The fall colors along the way were incredible. Turning south to carve down the hill, I reached the fog line once I dropped below Les Prés d’Orvin on the must-do Spaghetti Trail. I didn’t bring my GPS mouse today as I’m not quite ready to release this route to the public eye - not yet.

Anonymous asked: What is frame size and stem length, and which CC headset -- thanks

The Niner Air 9 Carbon frame is a medium. The Rotor S2 stem is 120mm long with a negative angle of 7.5 degrees. The headset is currently still the FSA that came with the frame. A red Cane Creek 110 is on order.
