Spring Ride
•
Thanks to daylight savings there’s enough time after a long day at the office to grab the bike and push a heavy gear on my backyard trails. Daffodils everywhere and some snow too.

Keeping it short today: It’s been a super sunny day, windy and a bit chilly, in other words a great day to head out on two wheels to collect a couple of miles and shoot a couple of photos.

Knowing that Sunday would bring clouds and new snow, I got the bike out to enjoy the sunny Saturday. The thermometer stood at -7 degrees, so there’d probably be a bunch who would not see much enjoyment riding a bike on such a day. I have more problems with the opposite end of a thermometer and right now I don’t have to worry about that. For photos and a short ride report check my post over at 29in.ch. One last thing. Why is it that when you ride a bike, granted a somewhat unusual bike for local standards with big wheels and one gear, people always ask if that’s a special snow bike?

After my sense of time froze up during yesterday’s ride, I promised myself and my wife that I’d be keeping today’s ride short. Last night brought more snow and today the sun managed to poke through the clouds once in a while. Temperatures were up compared to yesterday’s freeze so the day offered another great opportunity to go play in the snow. In the morning I went to Le Panetier to get a loaf of sourdough, a bunch of croissants and a few other baked goodies. After a late breakfast I took off for another fun ride in the snow.
