Bike Portraits
Thanks to Tumblr’s addition of static pages, my minimalist “work in progress” biking blog is getting a new addition - bike portraits in which I’ll feature my bikes with photos, a brief history about them and a detailed build list. I’m starting today with my current singlespeed on big wheels - the tang Niner One9. This bike was my first step into the 29er world. It’s one of these worlds of no return. Once you’re in it, your perspective is forever altered and anything smaller than 29 inches just won’t look nor feel right. The door to 26 inch wheelers immediately shut behind me the very first time I took the Niner out for a short spin through Shiloh Regional Park north of Santa Rosa some four years ago. Since then and a couple of Swiss summers and winters in between, this rig has taken me on countless miles of Jura trails to finally be a few months shy of reaching retirement with the arrival of its carbon successor - an tang Niner Air9 Carbon.
In the next couple of months, all other bikes in my stable will get their blog spot. Some of them just need to get their pictures taken. So, stay tuned.
